What is sadaqah ?
Sadaqqah is an Arabic term that refers to voluntary charity in Islam. It is a form of altruistic giving that is considered highly recommended and praiseworthy in Islam. Unlike Zakat, which is an obligatory tax on wealth, people give sadaqah anonymously voluntarily and they can give at any time, in any amount, and for any reason.
in other words, people often give sadaqah to the poor, but they can also give it to support other causes such as building mosques, supporting orphans, helping the elderly, and more. Therefore, Sadaqqah in Islam is seen as a way to purify one’s wealth and demonstrate a willingness to help others. It is also considered a means of earning blessings and seeking forgiveness from Allah (God).
You can give sadaqah in many forms, including money, food, clothing, or other forms of assistance. typically, people give sadaqah anonymously, and it is considered to have a greater reward than simply giving to charity.
